Simple Potato Fry/Potato Poriyal


                         Potato is a very common vegetable which is liked by all people.Potato fry is a very simple recipe to be prepared with basic ingredients.It can be served with steamed rice, rasam itself.Now lets check out the recipe.

Ingredients :

Potatoes - 3 large chopped
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tblsp
Salt - to taste
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Dry Red Chilli - 2
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal/Ulundhu paruppu - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves -  spring
Coconut Oil - 3 tblsp

Method :

  • Firstly, take 3 large potatoes and peel them.Chop into medium size pieces and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add urad dal,mustard seeds,dry red chillies and curry leaves.
  • Saute it and then add the chopped potatoes.
  • Toss well in the oil for about 1 min.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt to taste.Mix them well.
  • Add red chilli powder and stir it for a while.
  • Mix well and cover & cook on low flame.
  • Now open the lid and cook it on medium flame till the potatoes are roasted well.
  • Keep on stirring in-between.
  • Serve hot with rice.

Saute it for 1 min


Add hing and turmeric powder


Add salt to taste


Mix them well


Add chilli powder

Rava Ladoo/Sooji Ladoo


                       Rava ladoo or sooji ladoo is a easiest and quick sweet recipe which is can be prepared in few minutes.It is prepared with very simple ingredients but yet it tastes delicious and you get a very nice aroma from it.Lets check out the recipe.

Ingredients:

Rava/Sooji - 1 cup
Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Milk - as required
Ghee - 2 to 3 tblsp
Cashew nuts - 10 nos
Raisins - 6 nos


Method :

  • Heat a pan and add 2 to 3 tblsp of ghee.
  • Add cashew nuts and start roasting on low flame until light golden brown and then add raisins and roast till it gets puffed.
  • Add rava or sooji and fry it on medium heat.As im adding roasted rava need not to be roasted separately.
  • Keep stirring continuously till you get a nice aroma.
  • Now add grated coconut and mix well.
  • Add sugar and stir continuously for about 2 mins.
  • Turn off the flame and allow to cool slightly.
  • Add milk slowly and mix well.
  • Grease your palms with ghee or oil and start taking the mixture and form a round shape as ladoos.
  • Make sure that before the mixture cools down completely you have to form all the ladoos.
  • Serve.

Egg Kothu Parotta

                 
                           Kothu Parotta is a famous street food in South India. It is prepared with leftover parotta and which is combined with mixed vegetables or with eggs or with chicken. Whatever it is kothu parotta has a unique mouthwatering taste always. Lets check out the recipe now.

Ingredients :
Parotta - 3 small sized
Eggs - 2
Onion - 1 large chopped
Tomato - 1 large chopped
Green chilli - 3 chopped
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tblsp
Curry leaves/Pudhina leaves/Coriander leaves - handful
Salt - to taste
Oil - 3 tblsp

Method :

  • Heat a pan with oil, add chopped onions and green chillies and saute it till it becomes transparent.
  • Then add the ginger garlic paste and saute it till the raw smell goes off.
  • Add curry leaves, coriander leaves and pudhina and stir for a while.
  • Now add the chopped tomatoes and give a good mix.
  • Add all the spices, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder,garam masala, salt and mix well.
  • Pour the eggs and scramble it till almost cooked.
  • Once it is coated well with the masala, add the parotta pieces and give a good mix.
  • Make sure that the parottas are not sticky to one another. 
  • Switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves. 
  • Serve.
