Beetroot Halwa


Beetroot Halwa is a delicious and unique dessert.It is very healthy for kids and its very simple to prepare. Lets check out the recipe in step by step pics.

Ingredients :

Beetroot - 1 cup grated
Milk - 3/4 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Ghee - 5 tsp
Cashew nuts - as required
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp



Method :

  • Grate the fresh beetroot and set aside.
  • Heat a pan with ghee, add the cashew nuts and fry them till golden brown and set aside.
  • To the same pan, add little more ghee and add the grated beetroots into it.
  • Saute it for 2 mins and cover & cook for 2 mins.
  • Now add milk and mix it well.
  • Cook until all the milk is absorbed and till the beetroot is cooked soft.
  • When the beetroot is cooked well,add sugar and cardamom powder.
  • Sugar melts and the mixture will turn watery. Stir well until the mixture becomes thick.
  • Add the remaining ghee and roasted cashew nuts and mix well.
  • Serve the delicious beetroot halwa hot.

Add milk

Cover & cook till beetroot turns soft

Add cardamom


Add sugar


it turns watery


Stir till turns thick


Add ghee


Add cashew nuts


Mix well


Done
