Coconut halwa is a most popular and common halwa among all other halwa. It is most commonly prepared during festival reasons in South India. It is very simple and easier which can be tried for even beginners. Lets check out the recipe.
Ingredients :
Milk powder - 1 cup
Water - 3 cups
Sugar - 1 cup
Grated coconut - 2 cups
Ghee - 2 tblsp
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Sooji/Rawa - 2 tblsp
Nuts - for garnishing
Method :
- Heat a pan over medium flame and add the milk powder.
- Add water to milk powder and mix it.
- Make sure that there is no clumsy in it.
- Now add the sugar and mix it well.
- Immediately add the grated coconut into it and mix them.
- You can now increase the flame level and cook the coconut.
- Allow it to boil and it gets thicken.
- Once it starts to get thicker, add cardamom powder and mix well.
- And then the ghee and sooji.
- Stir it well till it forms to thicken.
- Garnish with nuts and serve hot.
